Some drivers have in the past had their cabs broken into, windows smashed and valuables stolen! Alas, a new spate of break-ins is now occuring, targeting Taxis and Private hire cabs. It goes without saying, that this is causing tremendous set backs for drivers having to pay for smashed windows, damaged doors, boot lids, etc. In the majority of cases nothing was taken however, the damage was excessive!

Every driver should now be aware of the cards that are available from the M.L.T.D.A. which state that "no valuables are left in this vehicle overnight". These cards were made by Medway Police at their expense and for our use only. Please get hold of one from any rep. and display it in your cab.

Please remember, always take ALL your valuables out of the cab when it is left unattended. When removing sat navs, also use a cloth or tissue to remove the tell-tale rubber sucker mark from your windscreen. This is something the thieves look for! Be vigilant, be aware and above all 'think thief' before locking that car door!

Please, please report every incident no matter how small. Every crime can be recorded so that it builds a bigger picture of what is happening in an area. This way, the Police can follow up on the information and track down the thieves a lot quicker.
