You will have noticed that work is ongoing at the old car park site next to the flyover.

On Monday 29 June 2009, the flyover will permanently close to general traffic.

These are the current dates of operation; Completion of temporary bus/taxi route = end of June.

Closure of flyover to all traffic, except BUSES AND TAXIS = 29 June.

Temporary bus/taxi route operational and flyover closed to all traffic = from 6 July.

No turn from Globe Lane to Medway Street = from 6 July.

Centre span of Sir John Hawkins flyover removed 11 and 12 July.

Reminder; the new temporary route is for Buses, Taxis/Private Hire and Cycles only. No other traffic will be permitted.

Blue and white signs will be displayed allowing buses, cabs and cycles through but no access for general traffic. This will be enforced by the Police.

By the end of 2009, the new bus/taxi route on the line of the flyover should be in operation.
