A news sheet was recently issued by Medway Council, albeit in limited numbers. We have taken it upon ourselves on this occasion, to reproduce some of the more important articles, for you to read and remember! Ed. Hackney Carriage Hackney carriage vehicles can only be driven by licensed hackney carriage drivers. Hackney carriage drivers CANNOT drive licensed private hire vehicles (this includes vehicles licensed for school runs only) without having a private hire driver licence. The only exemption is a person who is undertaking a test of the Hackney vehicle for mechanical condition or fitness. Please note that there is legislation and case law that endorses these requirments. |

Dear Colleagues, The majority of you will have now received and read the latest newsletter. In this issue we have asked you to reply as to whether you want a Tariff review or not. We are now waiting for you all to reply as soon as possible as our Council review is imminent. Please hand in your reply slips to any MLTDA Rep or in fact to anyone you know who has links to our association. This is very important that we have as many as possible returned, in order to give a fair representation of the Trade in general. Please do not wait for someone to come to you. Go and hand it in! It is very important! We will in due course let you know of the outcome of this exercise. 'Be Lucky' |
