I have been attending meetings and activities as an ambassador for the MLTDA, for some time now. We are informed of ongoing and forthcoming projects, the current one being the demolition of the Sir John Hawkins Flyover and the construction of the permanent Bus and Taxi route, named Waterfront Way. There is a delay on this rout until mid December, possibly early January, over a small number of health and safety issues. The bus terminus is on hold over planning issues and the Rochester riverside development behind Rochester station will not start until late 2010 / early 2011. There are 2000 dwellings, two hotels, a scholl, bars and restaurants going on this site over three phases. Dockside Outlet Centre |

Can we please make use of the new 2 car Taxi rank at Dockside Outlet Centre, located on Dockhead Road opposite the bus stops. We asked the Trade a few months ago where they would like new ranks located, one of these was Dockside. We know at the moment that any new rank takes time to get noticed and get used. However, it is a very busy location and when the redevelopment of Dockside is complete, this rank will benefit the Trade enormously. |

Membership Fees |

Yes! It's that time of year again and your membership fees are due from 1st January 2010. All your MLTDA reps will shortly be coming round with your new colour, 2010 window stickers. The membership fee has been held at £5.00 now for many years! But due to increase in stationary and National Private Hire and Taxi Association membership, we have had to increase our membership fee to £8.00 per year. It is the first increas in over 20 years in Medway! Therefore we hope that you can see we are actively working on your behalf and we feel this is still extremely good value for money. We would like to thank all our members for their support shown over the last year. "A BIG THANK YOU!" |
